Once In A Blue Moon Farm on Orcas Island, Washington
Located on the western side of Orcas Island about two miles from the ferry landing, this beautiful estate of 35 acres is committed to sustainable practices of farming and tourism. The original homestead was founded over 100 years ago and has gone through many transformations. This historic farm property is now available for your special vacation experience.
We have created five suites, located in two separate buildings on the farm. Each has it's own personality and we make every effort to find the best match for you. Enjoy a guided tour around our orchards, food gardens and barnyard. Organic fruit and pasture ranged eggs are available for purchase.
The Alpaca Suite
Ground level suite with surrounding courtyard and garden overlooking the alpaca and chicken pastures. Decorated with a vivid color palette the suite features a warm pine interior, vaulted ceiling and tiled bathroom. A unique collection of handcrafted and custom furniture and hardware. Sleep soundly on your queen pillowtop bed on the ground floor and a queen bed in the sleeping loft with a kid's corner filled with books and toys. The suite is equipped with a cold prep studio kitchenette (no cooktop) w/coffee brewer, electric kettle, deep sink, mini-fridge and smallwares. The Barn Loft
A studio loft located on the second story of a renovated carriage barn, allowing for expansive 360 degree views of our pastures and surrounding gardens. Natural light fills the vaulted ceilings with morning and evening sun. Enjoy a unique collection of handcrafted and custom furniture and design details. One queen bed, one twin bed, and one twin day bed make the studio perfect for a couple, small family, or a few friends. The studio is equipped with a full kitchen, including a gas stove, microwave and refrigerator, coffee brewer, electric kettle, and smallwares. The Secret Garden Room
Relish the morning and afternoon sun in a private courtyard and garden. Features a cozy rustic interior with high ceilings and intricate details. The room is built with salvaged and re-purposed materials sharing a long and storied past, including remixed paints, electrical wire, fasteners, windows and more. Pickets from the 1915 Farmhouse panel the walls and wood from the farm's original barn was re-born into all the trim, beams, and other details. One pillow top queen bed and a full bed in a sleeping loft. This is our smallest and most economical option. The room feautres a tiled bathroom, mini fridge, electric kettle and coffee brewer. The Lilac Suite
Located on the ground level of the farmhouse, the Lilac Suite has an open floor plan with detailing throughout. The suite includes one bedroom and a second sleeping area, both with pillowtop queen beds. The suite features a warm pine interior, tiled bathroom, and a cold prep studio kitchenette (no cooktop) w/deep sink, coffee brewer, electric kettle, and small wares.
